WHS Valedictorians For 2014 Announced!

In a press release from Wellington High School and Principal Dale Adams, it was revealed today who the valedictorians for the WHS Class of 2014 will be. Congratulations to Gracie Defore, Ben DeJarnett and Holly Wright. The remaining TOP 10% include Payton Baker, Connor Church, Parker Daugherty, Kenneth Easterly, Madison Foster, Shelby Hamel, Avery Lewellen, Katie Rosenthal, Megan Singleton, Natasha Smith and Houston Sober.

Local sports rescheduled/postponed due to weather

The following WHS AND WMS sporting activities, originally scheduled for Monday, April 14, have either been postponed or rescheduled due to the inclement weather conditions:

CRUSADER TENNIS UPDATE

 On Thursday evening, our Varsity Boys Tennis squad competed at Andover – here’s the breakdown on that action: #1 Singles- Tyler Pettegrew finished 6th:  Lost to C. Martin/Hesston 8-2 in the first round.  Went to consolation bracket where he beat L. Lloyd/ Wichita Independent 8-3 then lost his final match to R.

Crusader Golfers Host Invitational - Finish 5th!

The young WHS Crusaders Golf Squad hosted a dozen or so other teams on Thursday out at Wellington Golf Club under sunny skies, nice temps but a howling wind - how unusual - not. It's also very dry conditions - rain forecast for Sunday will be most welcome! The Crusaders battled hard and finished 5th as a team with 366 strokes, behind 1st place Rose Hill (311), Hesston (334), Augusta (338) and Eisenhower (343).

ORIOLES Win 3 of 4 vs CRUSADERS THURSDAY

The WHS Varsity Baseball and Softball teams were in action on the road Thursday @ Augusta. Sporting a 5-1 record, the Varsity Boys split with the Orioles to move to 6-2 on the season. In game #1, Trevor Nance secured his 2nd win of the season, final score WHS 2 AHS 1. In the nightcap, the Orioles outhit the Crusaders 6-2 and squeaked by with a 3-2 victory. Wesley Gilmore took the loss for Wellington.
